Who writes this, and why there is no byline
A deliberate decision, not an oversight.
No byline, on purpose
Most comparison sites lead with a named expert, because a face builds trust faster than a method does. The problem is that the people qualified to compare Microsoft security tooling almost all earn a living from that same ecosystem, as consultants, trainers or partners. A byline in that position is not a trust signal. It is a conflict of interest wearing a photograph.
So this site asks you to trust something checkable instead: weights published before testing, a stated disqualifying case in every guide, and a disclosure on every page.
How it is funded
Affiliate commission on some of the products covered. That funding model has an obvious failure mode, which is recommending whatever pays best. Three things exist to prevent it. Weights are published before a programme is joined. Products with no affiliate programme are recommended when they are the better answer. And the commission rate is never a scoring input.
You do not have to take that on faith. The method and the disclosure are both published in full.

It is not a Microsoft property, it is not affiliated with Microsoft, and no vendor has editorial input. Product marks appear here to identify the products being discussed, which is all they mean.
